It was unfortunate that we really did not got a chanced of knowing our cousins on my father side. There were many reasons that hinders. They lived very far from us and they lived in a province. Our lifestyles were different. And, that time, cell phones were not invented and even computers. We don’t have our own telephone and just a lot of things that really on the way to make it impossible to communicate with my cousins.
Now, we are all grown up and have our own life, own career. With the technology, we were able to communicate through social networks. Our cousins can contact us anytime as we have the telephone at home or if they preferred cell phones. Our lifestyles drastically had changed. One of our oldest cousin is no based in Saudi, he has his own family but his family still living in Philippines. He is working for all their visa and residency in Saudi. My younger sister and him are close, they chatted often on Facebook.
Our cousin is now in Philippines, just arrived from Saudi a couple of days ago for his one month vacation. He bought my younger sister a cell phone that is worth $300 something in US currency. Plus, he wants my mom, my brother and my sister to visit him and his family in General Santos. It is far from where we lived. But, anyway, he would shoulder all the expenses. Unfortunately, my brother can’t go because he has work. My mom can’t stayed in the bus for 8 hours or under due to her health condition. Only my sister can go there and she will bring one of her friend with her.
